Have you completed the seasonal maintenance for your Mequon home, but there is still one room that is always hotter than the rest of the house? Maybe you’re frustrated with trying to lower your energy bills, but nothing seems to work.
If this sounds familiar, it might be a sign of leaks and holes in your home’s ductwork. Before you jump into looking at full duct replacement, there might be another option: duct sealing.
Benefits of Duct Sealing
- Saves YOU Money—Did you know that a typical HVAC system can leak up to 40%? That’s almost half of the money you spend on heating and cooling going right out the window! You wouldn’t fill the bathtub with the drain open, would you? That’s what it’s like to cool your house with leaky ducts!
- Even Heating and Cooling—With sealed ducts, you can enjoy more consistent temperatures from room to room. No more hot or cold spots!
- Better Performance—When your HVAC system isn’t working overtime to make up for leaky ducts, it extends the life of your system and saves you money. Sealed ducts are also better at keeping out bacteria, dust, and allergens, helping you breathe cleaner, healthier air. (You deserve it!)
How Does Duct Sealing Work?
Step One: When one of our technicians arrives at your home, they’ll have a handy device we call “The Computator.” This computer inspects your entire duct system for any leakage. Not only can it tell us if there is a leak, but it also tells us how large the hole in your duct work is.
Step Two: After we’ve found the extent of the tears in the system, our technicians will then determine if your home requires a duct cleaning before applying the sealant. The last thing you want is dirt, dust, and debris glued down to your ductwork! Gross!
If you need a cleaning, we’ll use our high-powered trucks to get your ducts in good shape and ready for the next step. If your ducts are already clean, we’ll let you know and move on to step three.
Step Three: To seal your ducts, we use an incredible sealing system called “Defendo-Seal.” What makes Defendo-Seal so amazing is that it deploys non-toxic nanoparticles through the system, where it finds and binds those leaky tears.
Afterward, the technician runs a final report on the trusty “Computator” and will be able to tell you just how much the hole shrank. For example: “Defendo-Seal has successfully shrunk your 90-inch hole to a 5-inch hole.”
(NOTE: Attaining a zero-inch hole is not yet technologically achievable nor necessary to produce significant savings and improvement in the health and comfort of your home.)
